Job DescriptionPosition Summary Westbridge Academy, a NJDOE-approved private school for students with disabilities (APSSD), is seeking a Per Diem Substitute School Nurse to provide day-to-day nursing coverage as needed for the 2026–2027 school year. Westbridge serves students ages 5–21 within a structured, therapeutic environment. The Substitute School Nurse plays an important role in supporting student health, safety, and regulation on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with NJDOE and NJDOH regulations Administer medications and maintain accurate health records Respond to student health concerns, injuries, and emergencies Support health screenings, immunization compliance, and medical documentation Collaborate with administration, counselors, case managers, and families Participate in IEP meetings and provide input related to student health needs Support staff training related to health, safety, and student care protocols
Qualifications Current New Jersey RN License AED/CPR Certified Applicants must obtain a New Jersey Substitute Nurse Certification (guidance provided; process is NJDOE-administered — candidates without it will not be able to begin assignments) Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred Strong organizational, communication, and clinical skills Ability to work effectively within a team-based, therapeutic setting
Schedule & CompensationPer Diem / Substitute basis, as needed 2025–2026 Per Diem Substitute Nurse Daily Rate: $250 per day
