Under the direction of a RN/LPN, the Certified Nursing Assistant provides nursing assistance to the SCNs of the Nazareth campus performing the following duties.

• Assist SCNs with daily living activities such as personal care, laundry, etc.
• Serve SCNs in a manner conductive to their safety and wellbeing.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates as directed and report significant findings or changes to the licensed nurse.
• Provide walking assistance indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Assist with maintenance of hydration and nutrition needs of the SCNs.
• Follow established protocol for universal precautions and infection control.
• Responding to resident emergencies.
• Work with other staff to promote a friendly working environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Visit with SCNs as directed to provide comfort and safety.
• Inform verbally and/or submits in writing any significant observation or change in a resident for the licensed nurse to evaluate.
• Other duties may be assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Nursing assistant training and current registration in Kentucky Nurse Aide registry.

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and have CPR certification.
