American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of hospital experience and a KY or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Day shift rotating schedule: one week of 3x12-hour shifts, the next week of 4x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of current hospital Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions
• Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
• Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one supervisor), completed within the last year

• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, genitourinary, and respiratory conditions including CVA, renal failure, and substance withdrawal
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront; no changes accepted once approved
• Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
• Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions are considered case-by-case
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
• Travelers who have completed a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be placed on the same shift or unit
