DescriptionThe Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156 bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence,preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department in the role of Staff Development Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Participates in the general orientation process for all new employees and acts as a preceptor for new employees within the Nursing Service Branch.
- Participates in the QA program.
- Conducts weekly, monthly and yearly in-services.
- Tracks and records the continuing education for the Nursing Services Branch.
- Performs professional nursing care such as preparing and administering medications, wound care, catheter care, intravenous therapy and dressing changes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary as well as the ability to multi-task.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

Must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
