Floriculture Crew Leader

• Lead and train a crew of 2 to 5 employees in the installation and maintenance of annual flowers and seasonal color displays.
• Prepare landscape beds for planting, including soil preparation, cleanup, and amendments.
• Plant and maintain annual flowers in beds, containers, and planters according to design specifications.
• Perform pruning, deadheading, weeding, watering, and general flower bed maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and other approved treatments as needed.
• Identify common plants, weeds, pests, and beneficial insects.
• Monitor plant health and promptly report issues to managers.
• Supervise, delegate, and work alongside crew members to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Train new employees in horticultural practices, equipment use, and company standards.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding questions or concerns.
• Ensure crews have the necessary materials, tools, and equipment for each job.
• Operate and maintain small landscape equipment such as tillers and blowers.
• Maintain accurate records of crew hours, materials, and completed work using company software.
• Collaborate with managers to plan and execute seasonal installations and ongoing maintenance.
• Support the Floriculture Department and Maintenance Division as needed.

• Valid NC driver’s license
• Experience driving a truck and trailer preferred
• Experience with landscape maintenance equipment and annual bed care
• Proficiency in pruning, deadheading, and basic plant identification
• Ability to identify turf and weeds
• Experience mixing and applying herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers (pesticide license is a plus, but can be obtained after hire)
• Ability to scout and report plant health issues
• Strong leadership and training skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfort with technology for documentation (e.g., iPads, timesheets)
