We are looking to hire Mortgage Occupancy Field Inspectors to perform residential property inspections on behalf of mortgage lenders. Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledgeable and experienced inspectors
  • Have used at least one of the industry-standard smartphone apps:
    Inspector

    ADE (used by GIS), EZ Inspections, or Safe View Inspect
  • Currently conducting or have conducted occupancy inspections
Mortgage Property Inspection Overview:

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on properties they have financial interest in. The lender contracts GIS to have inspectors verify property occupancy, report general property conditions, deliver/post letters, conduct vacant interior walkthroughs, or provide insurance repair progress reports. Most inspections are basic exteriors, with some requiring contact via door knock or letter delivery. Some inspections will require interior access to secured or vacant properties and appointment-based insurance loss inspections.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Spend extended periods driving
  • Manage time efficiently to complete inspections within 3-5 days in your territory
  • Determine occupancy status based on industry standards and report property conditions
  • Use a mobile app to take photographs, add comments, and complete documentation
  • Maintain consistent communication with your inspection manager via text, email, and phone
Requirements:
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Aspen Grove ABC#
  • Computer with internet access
  • Fuel-efficient vehicle
  • iPhone or Android device
  • Printer
  • Office supplies (paper, envelopes, ink)
  • HUD keys (set of 11)
  • Availability during daylight hours
  • Volt stick (preferred)
Pay and

Hours:
  • Rate per inspection estimated at $15-$20+ per hour, depending on volume and efficiency
  • Payments made every Friday via direct deposit for work completed the prior week
  • Expected work hours: 5-15+ hours per week depending on the territory
  • This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position
