We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Cook I who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans.

Expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

• Assists in preparing and serving meals while maintaining dietary work areas, equipment and utensils in safe, clean and sanitary condition.
• Prepares and serves palatable and appetizing meals in a timely basis and in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Tastes meals to determine if properly cooked and seasoned.
• Ensures scheduled cleaning duties (dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, etc.) are completed.
• Disposes of food and waste in accordance with rules and regulations.

This position, in the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center Dietary Services Department, in Jessamine County has an approved Locality Premium of $4.88 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR

SKILLS:

One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.

Substitute EDUCATION for

EXPERIENCE:

Vocational training in food service will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
