We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help drive operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop a high‑performing team at Family Dollar.
Responsibilities- Support daily store functions, including opening, closing, and inventory management.
- Engage customers in a friendly, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
- Assist with merchandise receiving, staging, and floor placement while maintaining seasonal displays.
- Execute corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store‑related communications.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist with ordering merchandise, process damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention activities.
- Ensure the sales floor and stockroom are well‑stocked, organized, and meet company standards.
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow them.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting professionally with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required.
