Work Schedule: Full time;
Monday-Thursday (4-10’s)
Under the direction of the Security Systems Lead, the Security System Specialist assists in implementing and managing the daily activities of the Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), camera systems, and alarm systems. This position will also assist with other Safeguards and Security (S&S) program areas as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Other duties may be assigned.)
- Supports the continued management of the PACS/Alarms/Cameras
- Works with the Security Systems Lead to help manage the single security system deployed at all three PPPO sites
- Assists with the implementation of S&S Programs to include developing/revising S&S plans and/or reports
- Serve as a Communications Security custodian for the PPPO Technical Security Program
- Serve as the Security Lock and Key Control Officer for the Site May serve as an Inquiry Official for Incidents of Security Concern
- Attend training/working groups as assigned (out of state travel will be required)
No direct reports; however, does have responsibility of the security system components at the Site, to include ensuring they continuously operate as required or are taken out of service with appropriate compensatory measures implemented.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND KEY COMPETENCIES- Associates degree or applicable experience in a DOE S&S program or information technology field Preferred
- Ability to conduct Boolean search queries in support of S&S system maintenance and site activities
- Ability to produce/review/edit technical plans, orders, and reports under short suspense
- Must possess strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working in a fast paced and highly demanding environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” security clearance
- Experience in security at DOE site is preferred
- Must be a citizen of the United States and authorized to work in the US
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government vehicle
- Must be able to meet the physical capacity requirements of this position as determined by the Occupational Medical Provider
- Able to wear company-provided personal protection equipment if/when required
