Job Summary/Purpose

Receiving general directions from the Security Manager, Supervisor or designee, enforces Hospital regulations, provides a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors and employees. The Security officer will enforce Hospital policies and security regulations through active monitoring and patrolling of Harrison Memorial property by continuously watching for and the timely reporting of potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences of assigned areas.

As determined by supervisory personnel, the Security officer Investigates complaints or potential criminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services.

• Takes corrective action when called for and assists in security and safety matters
• Displays confidence in handling all types of situations while maintaining a professional manner.
• Maintains radio contact at all times.
• Completes duty log including any actions taken.
• Calls for assistance in situations beyond their control.
• Ensure that policies are applied in an equal and unbiased manner.
• Complies with all written and verbal directives.
• Makes complete patrols under normal circumstances
• Patrols all points and performs all required checks of areas.
• Enters all required data into hospital system.
• Corrects all security and safety deficiencies noted on rounds.
• Emergency Response
• Immediately responds to all emergency calls and offers support and assistance in resolving the issue.
• Conducts response in an appropriate manner as outlined in policies.
• Investigations and Incident reports
• Attempts to recover any missing property through search of area.
• Follow through on all available leads and attempt to obtain any additional information.
• Fully document all existing information and events in a clear and concise manner
• Pass along all available information to relieving Officers.
