Security Officer

Madison Parish Hospital is accepting applications for one (1) full-time Security Officer.

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property within the medical facility. This position involves patrolling the premises, monitoring security systems, enforcing safety regulations, responding to emergencies, and aiding individuals as needed.

• Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter and detect security or safety hazards.
• Monitor alarms and access control systems.
• Check doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as disturbances, medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security breaches.
• Assist in managing aggressive or disruptive individuals using approved de-escalation techniques.
• Contact and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident and activity reports.
• Verify identification and provide visitor badges in compliance with facility access procedures.
• Enforce parking regulations and assist with vehicle traffic flow as needed.
• Escort patients, visitors, and staff to and from vehicles or specific areas when requested.
• Provide directions, information, and assistance to patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while on duty.
• Follow all medical facility policies, safety procedures, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in regular safety drills and ongoing security training programs.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum of two (2) years experience in security or law enforcement, or military experience preferred, especially in a healthcare setting.

-High school diploma or equivalent, required.
