Position: Automotive Technician - CVG Airport-Up To *$29.50hr
Location: Hebron Estates

Automotive Technician – CVG Airport – Up To *$29.50/hr

As a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Location: Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
  • Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour, $29.50/hour with $2.50 shift differential pay for 3rd shift
  • Schedule: 40 hours a week – open availability including weekends
  • Required: Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule
  • Repair all non-motorized equipment
  • Program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger; including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID)
  • Repair and replace all tires and wheels
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the equipment
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance
  • Drive and operate service equipment vehicles
  • Conduct accident inspections on involved equipment
  • Report all accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers
  • Answer all radioed repair calls on the ramp
  • Provide preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to enable aircraft services team operations
  • Safely operate all vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) – perform daily equipment checks (DEC’s)
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Prior professional shop experience preferred, but not required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess valid US driver’s license
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
  • Comfortable lifting and moving up to 70 lbs
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • All mechanics required to perform duties of other positions as needed for operational requirements
  • Must obtain and maintain all required Airport Badge
  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions

The work environment includes frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high voltages, high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures, loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, hazardous substances, and occasional work in high, precarious places. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Work is performed under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance from the Station Manager. Responsibilities include periodic maintenance and inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, and company vehicles, as well as troubleshooting and repairing listed equipment and pipeline issues.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling tools or controls, reaching, climbing or balancing, and talking or hearing are required. Tasks include digging and shoveling for snow removal, debris removal, and lifting up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 70 lbs.
