** SUMMARY
* *** Provide training resource families for the regional center. Support, coach, and develop approved and potential resource families to ensure quality services for the children in Treatment Foster Care and Adoption Grants and build positive permanent connections.
**** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
** Co-Conduct pre-service training curriculum for resource families consistent with regulations for accreditation and licensing while training with a variety of approaches/delivery mechanisms to meet the needs of the audience, ensuring alignment with adult learning In-Service training for resource families to ensure families receive training hours consistent with agency guidelines.
Conduct CPR/First Aid Training and ensure all approved families maintain certification.
Conduct annual evaluation of training program curriculum and the development and implementation of an on-going retention plan for resource families.
Participate in recruitment of foster families in the region as determined by the PD.Conduct information sessions in a variety of locations for potential resource parents and positively engage and support families in the process of becoming a foster parent.
** Assist with the intake and matching process for clients referred to the treatment resource care program.
** Conduct the certification/home study process and provide written narrative according to state licensing standards, accreditation, and agency guidelines; review others’ home studies and approve prior to the Program Director.
Provide on-going support and interventions to resource parents, guiding and encouraging them as they care for clients in their home.
** Maintain case files for each family according to licensing standards as to content, accuracy, thoroughness and confidentiality. Produce a variety of reports, including incident reports, termination (discharge) reports, and home studies.
** Participate in the Quality Improvement process and represent the regional center on committees as requested.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with the external professional community, referral networks, and other Shineforth programs/services by representing the agency in a positive and professional manner to market and/or sustain services.
Conduct presentations and trainings to Shineforth staff and/or community organizations as directed. Provide assistance with family recruitment and resource parent functions.
Report any (and if possible, provide intervention for) incident of abuse or potential abuse involving children to the appropriate supervisor.
Other responsibilities as assigned.##
** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
** Demonstrated ability to deliver effective training using adult learning principles. Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive family assessments. Previous experience as a foster/adoptive parent preferred, minimum of two years with a successful placement.
Master’s degree in social work or related human service field with direct practice experience or a minimum of one-year direct service experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and five years related direct service experience.
