More specifically our team is building modern applications in Rust and we are looking for someone with strong Rust experience to help grow our team’s capabilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be a Rust evangelist within the organization. As Rust becomes a critical component of our software ecosystem, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for its adoption, mentoring colleagues on its best practices, and driving its integration into new projects. Your expertise and enthusiasm will not only shape the technical direction of our team but also help establish Rust as a cornerstone of our innovative platform.

• Become a key person to evangelist Rust
• Adept in async Rust support
• Design and implementation of embedded applications in Rust
• Maintenance and problem solving of existing Rust applications
• Support teams integrating with our libraries and applications
• Coordinate and plan tasks

• Long experience with the Rust language
• Adept at Rust best practices and paradigms
• Knowledge of Embedded Rust is a plus
• Knowledge of Rust-related CI, esp Git Lab is a plus
• Strong Git skills (repo tools, submodules, git-lfs)
• Experience with Cargo/Crates build system and package management
• Knowledge of Bazel is a plus

• Review and advise on best Rust practices across the company
• Build proofs of concept to showcase how specific problems could be solved
• Build Rust-focused CI templates for building/validating/linting/testing/code coverage/publishing/etc.

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Proficient with Linux

• Arm
  64 (OSX/embedded) cross compiling experience
• Bazel experience is a plus
• Experience with messaging systems such as MQTT, and especially NATS
• AOSP

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Palo Alto, California Based Applicants: 186, USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Irvine, California Based Applicants: 171, USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
