Qualifications
  • High School diploma, or G.E.D. certificate.
  • At least 64 semester hours of college credit, or completion of approved KHSAA professional development training specified in bylaw 27.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Passed a criminal records check required by Kentucky State Law.
  • Successfully completed a first aid course and CPR certification, and any other applicable training required by KHSAA Bylaw 27.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sporting rules, regulations and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the head coach and/or athletic director in various middle and high school athletic programs.
  • Assist coaches on one or more sports.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Lift heavy objects as required.
  • Promote sports within the school and community.
  • Assist in planning and supervising athletic programs and practices.
  • Teach individual fundamental skills, team plans, strategies, and rules of the game.
  • Teach good sportsmanship and self‑control.
  • Check athlete eligibility, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
  • Provide role modeling, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance to student athletes.
  • Conduct learning experiences with small groups under the direction of coaches.
  • Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for student athletes’ health, safety and welfare.
  • Demonstrate loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of Oldham County Schools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment

Employment will be on an as‑needed basis as determined by the Superintendent and will be subject to review for continuation on an annual basis. Stipend will be commensurate with the Oldham County Schools Extra‑Curricular Sponsor Stipend Schedule.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel. Evaluations will be conducted by the building principal or designee.
