Driver Training Program
JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Brown Food service, Inc. CDL Driver Training Program prepares, trains, and develops potential drivers with the knowledge and skills required to pass the state skills test and obtain a class "A" CDL. Once a trainee has obtained the CDL, the program provides a qualified trainer to assist in professional development. During training, trainees improve driving skills and acquire the knowledge to be successful professional drivers.
Based out of our Louisa, Kentucky warehouse, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.
Starting Pay:
$13.50/Pre-Permit
$14.50/Permit
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Learn and adhere to DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
- Strong communication skills with management, drivers, sales, and customers.
- Ability to use new applications and proprietary software.
- Basic math skills required.
- Self-motivated and customer-focused.
- Active listening and independent decision-making skills.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to drive safely in adverse weather conditions, including darkness, rain, wind, snow, or ice.
- Use of dolly or hand truck for heavy lifting and moving loads on various terrains.
- Routine loading and unloading at multiple customer sites daily.
