Position: Shipping / Receiving Associate

# Shipping / Receiving AssociateCOVINGTON, GA 30014## Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Travel  Percentage None## Description Shipping & Receiving Operations
* Count, weigh, measure, and verify materials for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
* Prepare and complete accurate documentation including receivers, packing slips, and shipping labels. Compare incoming shipments against purchase orders, and ERP system
* Package metal products include cleaning, deburring, stenciling, and marking materials as required.
* Build and assemble crates, pallets, and boxes using nail guns, saws, and other hand tools.
* Secure packages and materials for shipment using strapping, banding, and protective materials.
* Carrier coordination, schedule freight pick-ups with shipping carriers (e.g. UPS, FEDEX,LTL FREIGHT)
Material Handling
* Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
* Stage materials for shipment or storage in designated areas.
* Maintain clean, organized shipping and receiving areas to ensure efficient workflow.

Safety & Compliance
* Follow all company safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Operate forklifts and other equipment safely, adhering to company and OSHA regulations.
* Work in varied environmental conditions, including hot or cold temperatures and non-air-conditioned areas.

Team Collaboration
* Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and the Quality team to resolve shipment issues.
* Support team members and assist with other duties as required by business needs.

Driving & Delivery (as assigned):
* Operate company vehicles for local pickups and deliveries, including straight trucks and flatbeds.
* Ensure all materials are secured and transported safely, following DOT and company regulations.
* Complete driver inspections, maintain clean vehicles, and report any issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain delivery confirmations when applicable.

CDL may be required depending on vehicle class operated.## Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred,
* Basic computer proficiency, and familiarity with shipping software or ERP systems
* Forklift certified (or able to become certified within 1 month of hire).
* Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, packing slips, and work orders.
* Basic math and measurement skills for accurate counting and verification.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A preferred for applicable driving duties.
* Must meet company and DOT driving eligibility requirements if assigned driver responsibilities.
