Office of Black Student Success Specialist

Location: North Kentville

Step into a pivotal role as a Student Success & Retention Specialist with the Office of Black Student Success at Kingstec Campus, located in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Your work will center on fostering academic achievement for African Nova Scotian and Black students.

This full-time position emphasizes collaboration with faculty and community stakeholders to develop effective student support initiatives. Candidates must hold three or more years of relevant experience that demonstrates their commitment to social justice and equity in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate supports for at-risk students through Early Alert systems

• Monitor academic progress and key performance indicators

• Connect students with comprehensive resources

• Facilitate case management discussions with faculty

• Evaluate student success initiatives for continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience

• At least three years in student support or similar fields

• Direct experience working with Black Nova Scotian communities

• Strong skills in communication and facilitation

• Proficient in using technology for student engagement
