Mine Environmental Technologist

Certain Teed Canada is seeking a Mine Environmental Technologist to support the development, construction, and operation of the Antrim Gypsum Project
, a new gypsum mine in Nova Scotia.

This is a unique opportunity to join a major mining project during its early stages and play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence throughout the mine's lifecycle.

• Conduct environmental monitoring activities, including water, air, rock, and sediment sampling.
• Perform site inspections and ensure compliance with permits, regulations, and environmental management plans.
• Collect and maintain environmental data, monitoring records, and database information.
• Support permitting requirements, regulatory reporting, and long-term monitoring programs.
• Assist with waste management, reclamation, water management, erosion control, and vegetation management initiatives.
• Develop and maintain environmental procedures and field protocols.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, regulators, and project stakeholders.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

• Diploma or degree in Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in environmental compliance, mining, quarrying, or natural resource industries.
• Knowledge of environmental permitting, regulations, and monitoring programs.
• Experience with environmental sampling techniques and data management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GIS software (ArcGIS preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work safely in field environments.

• Previous mining, quarry, or mineral extraction experience.
• Experience working with environmental management systems and regulatory agencies.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
