Student Success Specialist for Black Communities

Location: North Kentville

Become a Student Success & Retention Specialist alongside the Office of Black Student Success at Kingstec Campus in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Focus on supporting African Nova Scotian and Black students' academic journeys with culturally responsive approaches.

In this continuing full-time role, you will leverage your experience in student development, leadership, and problem-solving to enhance retention for diverse learners. Three years of relevant experience and familiarity with African Nova Scotian communities is essential for this impactful position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Early Alert and at-risk student interventions

• Monitor student academic progress and engagement

• Facilitate outreach connecting students to support resources

• Lead case conferences with faculty and support staff

• Research and implement new retention initiatives

Requirements:

• University degree or relevant occupational experience

• Minimum three years in student support or community services

• Lived experience within African Nova Scotian or Black communities

• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
