On behalf of our client in the Inspection and Certification industry, Procom Services is looking for a System Engineer – Level 2. The candidate must have up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technologies:
Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMWare.
This position is responsible for maintaining a variety of wide area network based servers and systems in an enterprise environment daily.
- Solution and monitor wide area network file and print servers for capacity, utilization, and performance
- Advanced system hardware/software troubleshooting as required
- Solution, install, implement, and support complex server platforms which may include SAN/NAS systems
- Architect and deploy data backup and recovery solutions
- Perform data backup and recovery processes per disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Contribute to defining standard hardware requirements
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to gather IT system requirements and deploy solutions
- Maintain technical documentation of system/server inventory and specifications
- Perform security audits following the company’s IT security policy
- Participate in asset management programs
- Work with IT service ticketing system to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Write technical documentation as needed
- Ensure compliance with IT standards and change management processes
- Stay updated on current technology trends
- Perform other IT infrastructure tasks as required
- Associate's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Expertise with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with VMWare ESXi or similar virtualization platforms
- Basic knowledge of core Microsoft Server Services (DNS, DHCP, WINS)
- Experience with server event monitoring
- Experience with HP Net-Server Hardware
- Experience with enterprise data archiving and restoration platforms
- Experience with remote support utilities (RDP, Terminal Services)
- Understanding of networking topologies and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of virtualization, clustering, and DR/BCP best practices
- Exposure to Symantec Endpoint Protection or similar antivirus solutions
- Understanding of data center management techniques
- Knowledge of SMS or similar Asset Management tools
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and/or Exchange
- Experience with NAS/SAN technologies (Net App experience is a plus)
12-month+ contract
