Imagine you’re handed a tight‑tolerance part with an aggressive timeline. Your plan? Stand up a capable process, document it clearly, validate with data, and train the team—so production runs stable, safe, and efficient. That’s the daily challenge at Autocam/NN Inc., where precision machining meets inventive engineering and an empowered culture.
Your mandate
Standardize to stabilize: collaborate with product teams to create procedures and documentation that drive consistent, high‑quality, low‑cost builds.
Invest wisely: provide technical support for capital equipment planning and implementation.
Engineer excellence: design and optimize processes and tooling for existing lines and new product launches.
Lead rigor: run APQP and continuous improvement using the Project Launch Guide and the Autocam Production System (APS).Lock it in: maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
Quote with confidence: generate new part quotes and update existing customer quotations with precision.
Elevate capability: train operators on machine operation, SPC techniques, document use, and process improvement.
Build to print: interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T throughout manufacturing and inspection.
Assure and protect: ensure compliance with our Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).Qualifications BS in Engineering or equivalent technical training with 2+ years of experience.
Track record of problem solving and continuous improvement.
Comfort with technical documentation, cost estimation, and manufacturing software systems.
Fluent in complex documentation and able to communicate across shop floor to leadership.
Experience in APQP, GD&T, and lean principles.
Technical proficiency GD&TBachelor's Degree Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Continuous Improvement Statistical process control (SPC)
Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Process Engineering Experience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentPPAP Process Experience Root Cause Analysis Machines & platformsCNC Lathe (2–4 axis) (Mazak, Haas)
CNC Swiss Lathe (Citizen, Tornos)
CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Mazak, Index, Miyano)
