Role and Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver prescription medications to patients, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
- Verify recipient identity and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Handle and transport medications with care, ensuring compliance with all handling and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules, adjusting as needed based on traffic and weather conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any delivery-related questions or concerns professionally.
- Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, ensuring it remains clean and in good working condition.
- Communicate with pharmacy staff regarding delivery status, delays, or any issues encountered.
- Assist with pharmacy duties as needed, including checking out prescriptions, putting prescriptions away, and selling prescriptions within the pharmacy as permitted by a pharmacy trainee license.
- Perform other pharmacy or delivery duties as deemed necessary by the pharmacy management team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in delivery driving, preferably in a healthcare or pharmacy setting, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and navigation tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle and transport prescriptions or medical supplies with care and professionalism.
- Must be detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 20 lbs.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and prescription handling procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected delivery challenges.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Prior experience handling cash transactions or electronic payment processing.
- Pharmacy Technician License/Trainee (Required)
