The candidate’s role is aimed, to be eventually, subject matter expert for EMEA (Europe, South Africa and Middle East) inventory accounting processes, gaining strong understanding of associated operational processes. Overall workload expectation is approx. 50% operational activities and 50% projects/administrative. Within the operational part the job is a mix of approximately 35% accounting and 65% analyses for the designated BSC manufacturing sites, Tier 1 and Tier 2 EMEA warehouses and consignment inventory.
You are the point of contact for all things inventory, and you drive expected behavior and influence stakeholders across the regions. You will be a senior accountant working closely together with junior accounts in the existing team. You operate within a multi-cultural, diverse and inclusive driven team. It is expected that you will proactively identify ways to improve and streamline processes and are leading the implementation of process improvements and standardizations while cooperating with other GBS business process leaders.
The candidate performs a variety of complex duties related to balance sheet and profit and loss chart of accounts.
- Subject matter expert of supply chain inventory accounting processes, being a solid business partner for other associated global finance teams, supply chain management, divisional central accounting, FP&A, business controls and multi region GBS teams.
- End to end ownership of balance sheet inventory (i.e., capital equipment, Irish manufacturing, transfer price variance).
- End to end ownership of P&L other cost of goods sold (i.e., purchase price variance, drop-shipment sales and cost of goods sold, transfer price variance).
- Business partner (i.e., Irish, Supply Chain, FP&A, Local Finance) and provide business analytics, be able to turn financials into narrative.
- Operationally execute complex account reconciliations and review, approve prepared internal controls, journal entry and reconciliation prepared by junior accounts.
- Drive continuous improvement, value improvement, partner with global process steward.
- Mentorship juniors in team, globalization view ATR inventory and backup structure other senior position, consult on internal controls.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards and the Internal Quality Management System.
- Bachelor in Financial Accounting or Business Economics.
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- SAP experience; additional automation capabilities are a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional language capabilities are a plus.
