Duties Include:As an Otolaryngologist at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center:
- Leadership & Accountability
:
Work under the ACOS of Surgery, maintaining comprehensive surgical and clinical services. - Team Collaboration
:
Integrate with an interdisciplinary staff, including physicians, extenders, technicians, and administrative personnel. - Clinical Responsibilities
:
Deliver compassionate, effective patient care, including health promotion, disease treatment, and end‑of‑life care. - Documentation & Maintenance
:
Manage open encounters, consult maintenance, and required documentation as per CPRS. - Quality & Safety Oversight
:
Participate in clinic productivity, quality measures, patient safety, and process improvements. - Professional Development
:
Engage in continuous learning, ethical practice, and sensitivity to diversity. - Communication Skills
:
Foster professional relationships with patients, families, and health care team members. - Educational Role
:
Contribute to teaching, oversee educational activities, and supervise trainees. - Research Contribution
:
Plan and conduct research programs, generating reports and publications based on findings.

- Competitive Salary Range
: $350,000‑$400,000. - Paid Time Off
: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). - Malpractice

U.S. Citizenship: Non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.
Board Certification: Candidates must be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Otolaryngology.
Preferred Experience: Current American Board of Otolaryngology certification or eligibility requirements.
