Field Service Supervisor - Gas Meter in Winston Salem, NC

Job Description

A Gas Meter Supervisor here at Honeywell will lead a team of gas meter installers, ensuring all meters, both residential and commercial, comply with state and federal regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of processes, procedures and systems to produce high‑quality work. It will involve solving moderately complex problems and considering alternative solutions before recommending a path forward. You will use analytical skills and judgment to recommend the best solutions.

You will be responsible for planning and working with management to meet business goals and objectives while maintaining compliance and delivering best‑in‑class customer service. Your decisions will impact the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of projects.

You will report directly to our operations Manager and work out of Winston‑Salem, NC, with travel as needed.

• Supervising day‑to‑day and long‑range activities for a mixed team of hourly and professional employees.
• Prioritizing and assigning resources to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and team project goals and operational objectives are met per applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
• Coordinating with other supervisors and teams to meet requirements.
• Providing coaching, training and development for team members on tasks, skill proficiency and performance on a routine basis.
• Maintaining customer satisfaction through timely and thorough communication.
• Participating in and facilitating the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new employees in partnership with HR.
• Working with Manager and other team members to develop and implement strategies to optimize field service operations and improve customer satisfaction.
• Assigning and scheduling field service technicians to meet customer demands and service level agreements.
• May work extended hours beyond normal business hours as needed.
• Championing Quality Assurance and Quality Control on all projects.
• Driving results through performance management of external and indirect resources, including setting expectations, evaluating results and taking corrective action as needed.
• Following organizational policies and procedures.
• Monitoring budget variances and acting when and where needed.
• Reviewing and approving work orders, progress reports, field invoices, as‑built record and bid contra to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
• Coordinating with internal and external service providers and supporting other units to act in the field and ensure that work is performed as planned and scheduled.
• Supervising staff selection, development and retention, establishing and monitoring work goals and objectives.
• Demonstrating strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.

• Five or more years of experience in the gas industry focused on capital construction and maintenance and/or experience in field inspection activities, project control activities, process improvements, business systems.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Contract and performance management capabilities.
• Operator qualifications knowledge.
