Job Description

Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machinery within the plant. Key duties include machine operation, monitoring the processes, materials, and quality; inspecting equipment, basic troubleshooting, adjusting settings, and record keeping.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up, operate, and run manufacturing machinery based on SOPs and work instructions.
  • Make necessary adjustments to optimize performance and meet production specifications.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and minor repairs to prevent downtime.
  • Load raw materials and unload finished products; operate sealing equipment as needed.
  • Weigh, document, and discard scrap generated by equipment.
  • Input and record data into operating systems.
  • Maintain production level to standard and follow all quality guidelines.
  • Inspect product and identify defects or contamination.
  • Train new associates in all aspects of the job.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Work in other areas and departments as requested.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following contamination‑control cleaning guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience and education.
  • At least 6–12 months of manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to locate documents.
  • Intermediate English comprehension and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Detail‑oriented, accurate, and dependable.
  • Ability to convey machine performance and production progress accurately.
  • Independent worker with strong teamwork ability.
  • Positive communication with managers and employees.
  • Comfortable with overtime and weekend work if required.
  • Wear appropriate gowning materials and PPE as defined by plant safety procedures.
  • Regularly stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, and pivot; lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to reach with arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Visual ability to detect contamination or defects.

Compensation

$18.80 per hour, with $1 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift.
