To glorify God by providing leadership, vision, spiritual guidance, and oversight to the staff and members of Zion Lutheran Church, Kerrville, Texas.
Qualifications Education/Certification- Hold bachelor’s degree, preferred focus in theology or related field
- Foundation in Lutheran teachings
- Seminary education background
- Preferred Master of Divinity from an accredited seminar
- Effective preaching and teaching rooted in the Bible and foundations of Lutheranism
- Technology experience to facilitate online worship, communicate with our congregation, and effectively share Zion’s mission
- Develop an understanding of the demographics of Kerrville, Texas, and surrounding areas
- Ideas and action plans on how to grow the congregation
- Conduct high quality traditional and contemporary worship services
- Effective Preaching and Teaching rooted in the Bible
- Leadership: the ability to inspire, motivate, and build teams
- Promotes Spiritual Formation and Discipleship
- Evangelism
- Communication-effective speaker and listener
- Crisis Management
- Live worthy of the Gospel
- Effectiveness with Senior Citizen ministry programs
- Facilitate the growth of a youth program
- Sense of Humor
- Gentleness
- Consistency in execution of initiatives and goals set by the church council
- 5 years as a Lead Pastor or other qualifying leadership role
