- Perform highly advanced and complex therapeutic rehabilitation activities and treatment (senior level).
- Coordinate therapeutic rehabilitation services and programs within the department.
- Supervise and/or provide training to Registered Therapists and Rehabilitation Therapy Technicians in the rehabilitation department.
- Provide and/or direct skilled therapy to individuals; develop treatment protocols for specialty areas.
- Analyze progress reports and service provision by direct reports and instruct on modifications required.
- Develop in‑service training programs.
- Collaborate with departmental and hospital leadership to develop programming via performance‑improvement activities.
- Work under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response, continuity of operations, or other agency obligations.
- May be eligible for additional pay for work performed at maximum security locations.
- Attend work on a regular basis; may be required to work specific shift schedules, rotating schedules, extended shifts, and overtime per agency leave policy.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate discipline‑specific therapy and activities; develop treatment protocols for specialty areas.
- Provide consultation and collaboration among department, units, recovery teams, and administration to establish an active rehabilitation department with patient goals/objectives based on recovery needs.
- Conduct therapy evaluations and assessments; formulate and develop goals and objectives; implement person‑centered, recovery‑oriented, and trauma‑informed care.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate rehabilitation technicians and registered therapists; develop in‑service training programs; monitor and audit documentation of direct reports.
- Engage in quality assurance activities to ensure programming meets standards.
- Maintain professional competencies through continuing education programs relevant to credentialed discipline or activities.
- Participate in performance‑improvement activities, including revising departmental policies and procedures, identifying client and programmatic needs, developing outcome measures, monitoring and improving environment of care, revising treatment programs per accreditation standards.
- Actively support facility and agency safety, risk management, and infection control programs.
Skills and Abilities
