Performs moderately complex work in caring for grounds and public buildings. Work involves caring for and maintaining the appearance of grounds and gardens, maintaining, and repairing grounds keeping tools, supplies, and grounds equipment, and performing various gardening activities. Will work under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Assist other departments as needed.

• Performs grounds keeping work, such as mowing and trimming grass.
• Waters, plants and trims trees and shrubs.
• Controls the advent of ant beds.
• Performs repair and preventative maintenance work on parking lots, roads, and sidewalks within campus.
• Performs routine maintenance on grounds keeping hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 70 pounds.
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, bend and climb.
• Perform vehicle cleaning and washing.

• Performs related work as assigned.
• Safely drive university vehicles.

• Experience in groundskeeping preferred.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License and proof of insurance.
