Old Winderbrowe School is seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join our founding team. Situated in the picturesque town of Keswick, our new school will cater to children with specific learning needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and associated complex needs.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a brand‑new school and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people.

What We’re Looking For
  • Primary or early years experience would be desirable due to the needs of our students
  • High expectations and a commitment to delivering the best possible education for all students
  • Excellent classroom practice with the ability to create innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to ensure all students are challenged and supported with functional, developmentally appropriate targets
  • Flexibility, dynamism, well‑organised and reflective practice
  • Experience supporting children and young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and complex needs, including those who may be looked after
  • Team‑oriented and capable of inspiring and supporting colleagues

Additional Information

You will be joining a small, supportive team and will receive high‑quality training and development. This is a full‑time position starting in September 2026. We generally follow the Cumbria term dates, although our five INSET days may vary. The successful applicant will be required to adhere to our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
