We’re Lake District Hotels, a family-owned group of hotels set across Cumbria. Our six hotels range from countryside retreat and town-centre hotels including a Grade II listed pub with rooms and a destination spa hotel, each offering a distinct experience, brand identity and guest audience.

All of our marketing is delivered in-house, and we’re now looking for a Marketing Manager to join our head office team, based at Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in Borrowdale.

This is a fully office-based role, working closely with hotel teams across the Lake District. Due to the collaborative, fast-paced nature of the role, hybrid or remote working is not available.

We welcome applications from local candidates, as well as those looking to relocate. For anyone relocating, we offer live-in accommodation for up to six months to support a smooth transition.

The role

This is a broad, hands‑on role with real responsibility and ownership. You’ll be responsible for keeping a large volume of marketing activity moving, organised and delivered to a high standard across multiple properties.

You’ll be planning, coordinating and driving marketing activity across accommodation, food and beverage, spa, weddings and events, while working closely with our Marketing Executive, hotel General Managers and senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Driving marketing activity that generates new business, increases awareness and supports revenue growth across all six hotels
  • Planning and delivering campaigns for accommodation, food and beverage, spa, weddings, events and group promotions
  • Identifying new market opportunities, audiences and campaign ideas to attract new and repeat guests
  • Creating and managing a structured 12-month marketing and events calendar
  • Overseeing social media and content activity across Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and You Tube, ensuring brand consistency and effective customer acquisition
  • Working closely with the Marketing Executive to plan content, manage deadlines and maintain momentum
  • Signing off social content, visuals, reels, blogs and creative assets, including planning and coordinating photoshoots
  • Managing PR activity, including press releases, influencer and journalist visits, and partnership outreach
  • Planning and managing print and digital advertising across local and national media
  • Monitoring performance, reporting insights and continually refining activity to maximise impact
  • Working closely with General Managers, the Head of Marketing and the Company Director to ensure activity is organised, aligned and delivered across multiple hotels
About you

This role will suit someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys juggling multiple projects ’re less concerned with ticking technical boxes and more interested in how you work.

You’ll ideally be:

  • Exceptionally organised, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proactive, fast‑moving and comfortable working at pace
  • Creative and ideas‑led, while remaining practical and delivery‑focused
  • Results‑oriented, with a strong track record of seeing projects through to completion
  • Solutions‑led — able to identify issues early and drive activity forward
  • Confident working with a wide range of stakeholders across the business
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable adapting priorities as required

You must also have a full UK driving licence and access to a car — essential, as the role involves regular travel between our Lake District hotels.
