Community Staff Nurse (Keswick and Solway ICC)

We are pleased to offer a fixed‑term Band 5 Community Staff Nurse role (up to 37.5 hours a week) based in Keswick and Solway. The role covers a large geographical area on the borders of the Lake District.

Daily working hours are 8:30 am to 10:30 pm, including full‑day shifts (8:30 am‑4:30 pm) and late shift (2:30 pm‑10:30 pm). Weekend and bank‑holiday coverage is required with the same hours.

• Provide high‑quality community nursing care and support patients with complex nursing needs.
• Work closely with health and social care colleagues to prevent hospital admission, facilitate discharge, and promote independence through re‑ablement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage long‑term conditions.
• Support the development of nursing practice by providing and receiving preceptorship as required.

• Level 1 registered nursing qualifications.
• Post‑registration qualification in teaching/assessing.
• Evidence of continuous professional development to degree level or equivalent experience.

• Understand the expectations and scope of community nursing.
• Broad knowledge of acute and chronic conditions.
• Knowledge of the NMC code of professional conduct and reflective practice.
• Experience of working within local and community health services, and managing change.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Ability to travel independently across the region.

Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 per annum (pro‑rata).
