What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team and the first point of contact for assisting clients. You will maintain case management and daily workflow while helping Alaskan families and those in need reach higher levels of independence and self‑sufficiency by connecting them to a variety of public assistance programs and services offered by our agency.

The position is located at our Ketchikan office, 2030 Sea Level Dr., Suite 301, Ketchikan, AK 99901, and joins a statewide eligibility workflow team across the state.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience that included:

  • Applying statutes, regulations, and program requirements to process, review, and evaluate applications for employment, programs or services, loans, licenses, or permits.
  • Employee benefit enrollment or claims, investigations, collections, or related tasks.
  • Extensive person‑to‑person contact performing work such as explaining policies, procedures, services, or requirements; providing instruction or training; or interviewing/counseling individuals.

Post‑secondary education may substitute for the required experience. At the time of the interview, candidates must provide three professional references, with one current or most recent supervisor, and a copy of academic transcripts.

Education

Education credentials must be submitted as part of the application. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable if the institution name and URL are listed. For foreign education, documentation proving equivalency to U.S. qualifications is required.

Work Experience
