About the Position- Full‑time Day shift Surgical Technologist.
- Work 8‑hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
- 4 OR Suites.
- 25‑bed critical access hospital with level IV trauma center.
- Wage range: $39.54 – $59.28.

This position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient.
Essential Functions- Arrange and inventory sterile set‑up for operation and pass items as needed to the surgical team.
- Understand and apply the principles of asepsis; establish and maintain a sterile field and assure the team maintains the sterile environment.
- Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assist with clean‑up and room turnover.
- Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
- Participate in all safety initiatives and adhere to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Accredited Program Preferred:
Surgical Technology or recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist
- Preferred: 1-year experience as a surgical technologist in a full‑service operating room
- Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
- Required:
Upon Hire Basic Life Support Certification - Preferred:
Certified Surgical Technologist
- Well organized, detail oriented and self‑motivated (Required)
- Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others (Required)
- Ability to execute detailed procedures with accuracy and precision (Required)
- Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required)
- Understanding of operating room protocols (Required)
Lifting
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
- Frequent reaching/bending/squatting/kneeling/grasping.
- Lift/Carry:
Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs. - Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Mental/Visual
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
