Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist for a home health position requiring at least one year of recent home health experience and an active Alaska PT license.

• Community-based home health setting with office located on campus
• Average daily census of 26 patients
• Day shift schedule with options for 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• No weekends or on-call required
• May float to hospice patients if needed
• Patient population includes COPD, CHF, orthopedic procedures such as joint replacements, and neurological diseases
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Reliable vehicle is necessary for patient visits
• Duties include patient evaluation, developing and modifying treatment plans, and delivering patient care according to plan
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation according to regulatory and professional standards
• Expected to collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to coordinate continuous patient care
• May supervise therapy assistants, aides, volunteers, and provide clinical instruction to students
• Open to first-time travelers with adequate OASIS experience
• Block scheduling during weekdays is available
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Work location is in Ketchikan, Alaska, known for its mild winter climate
• Housing support information is available upon request

• Active Alaska PT license required (compact PT allowed); license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent home health or OASIS experience
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and independent assessment skills
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
