Job Description
Peace Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Midwife to join our team in Ketchikan, Alaska. Experience Ketchikan, Alaska – a friendly, family‑oriented community in scenic Southeast Alaska. - Provides direct clinical services and management of mothers and babies as defined in the standing orders, policies, procedures and protocols for the certified nurse midwife.
- Obtains patient health histories and completes physical examinations. Documents findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
- Performs approved therapeutic procedures based upon patient’s clinical status. Documents patient preparation and response to procedure(s).
- Collaborates with physician and nursing colleagues and documents in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries.
- Educator – assesses educational needs, plans, provides, and evaluates educational programs for nursing staff, interdisciplinary healthcare team, and community.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Peace Health has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25‑bed critical‑access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29‑bed long‑term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by Peace Health Medical Group—Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).
Benefits- Guaranteed first‑year income, based on a 1.0 FTE and years of direct experience (0–3, 3–5, 5–9, 10+)
