American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active AK RN license, 1 year of Med/Surg experience, and EPIC experience.
Details- Medical Surgical unit setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- 3x12 shifts that may vary between day, evening, and night depending on unit need
- Floating required as needed within the health system
- Active or pending AK RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience preferred
- 1 year of EPIC charting experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
- Two professional references from the past 2 years, with at least one from a supervisor
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
- Provide direct patient care to a Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient population
- Skills such as blood product administration, PICC line management, and continuous bladder irrigation are preferred
- Experience with CVA, renal failure, and IV insulin protocols is preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
- Previous Peace Health employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Up to 3 RTO days may be approved for auto-offer positions, with some holiday RTO possible depending on unit needs
- No additional RTO will be approved after contract signing
- Candidates without an active AK license may experience a start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
