Safeway, Inc. is an American supermarket chain. The chain provides grocery items, food and general merchandise and a variety of specialty departments, such as bakery, delicatessen, floral and pharmacy, as well as Starbucks coffee shops and fuel centers.

Food Service:

• Rotate across 8 workstations as determined by management:
  Grocery, Produce, Deli, Starbucks, Bakery, Seafood, Fresh cut, and Cashier.
• Maintain the quality condition of all products: receive, clean, store, maintain, process, cut, trim, arrange, bake, brew, wrap, package, stock, rotate or face product. The work may be reworked or reduced to sale items according to company procedures.
• Maintain and clean display cases, cooking and brewing equipment, work areas, coolers and freezers. Pull and discard outdated and spoiled products according to procedures. Maintain stockroom. Clean and dust shelves. Control shrinkage. Prevent the sale of out-of-code product.
• Operate related equipment such as ovens, meat saws, wrapping machines, cutters, slicers, knives, coffee brewers, mixers, microwave ovens, safety cutters, deep fryers, rotisserie cookers, steamers, boilers, trash compactor, etc.
• Operate checkout stand equipment such as cash register, printer, scanner and scale to process customer orders. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques and bag customer orders. Keep checkout stand clean, neat and properly stocked. Assist customers with special orders.
• Build product displays and operate related equipment such as hand trucks, six‑wheel carts, high boys and pallet jacks.
• Stay current on product location, new products, sales and promotions, monitor UPC codes and ensure a safe and secure work area.
• Assist customers, perform checking duties with an emphasis on providing friendly, courteous, customer service.
• Use the store intercom to make announcements.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities safely and with accuracy, honesty and integrity.
• Represent the store in a positive manner to customers and the public.
• May be in contact with pork products.
• Cleaning products may contain chemicals.

Pay Rate: $16.00 Per Hour

Housing Rate: $10 / Day / Person (Rate is subject to change)

Housing Details:
Participants will be sharing apartment‑sized cabins. Kitchenettes stocked with cooking utensils, tableware, microwave, Free Wi‑Fi, refrigerator, coffee maker; shared restroom with 2‑3 participants per cabin. Cabins are furnished with color cable TV, fireplace‑look heater. All linens included. Amenities include indoor Laundromat and convenience store on site.
