Social Services, Position Summary
The Tribal Family Services Case Manager provides case management and family support services to children and families involved with, or at risk of involvement with, the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and Alaska Office of Children's Services (OCS). This position helps families achieve reunification goals through culturally responsive, strength-based service planning, supervised visitation services, family advocacy, and parenting education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide case management, advocacy, and support services to Tribal families.
- Develop culturally responsive service and safety plans in collaboration with OCS and ICW staff.
- Coordinate and monitor supervised visitation and supervised exchange services.
- Conduct family assessments and identify needed resources and referrals.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case documentation.
- Facilitate culturally informed parenting classes such as Motherhood is Sacred and Fatherhood is Sacred.
- Collaborate with Tribal programs, community partners, and OCS to support child and family well‑being.
- Assist with program reporting, data collection, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in trainings, community meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of ICWA, child welfare systems, victim advocacy, and family services.
- Strong case management, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to cultural competency and serving Tribal communities.
- Make a meaningful impact on children and families in the community.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
Experience- Minimum six (6) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Child welfare or Indian Child Welfare
- Victim services
- Probation or court services
- Supervised visitation and supervised exchange programs
- Volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision
- Case management and family support services
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Licenses & Certifications- Valid Alaska Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- CPR certification required within six months of hire.
