Semi-Senior Accountant – c £34K – £36K Kettering

Our client, an established and reputable firm of chartered accountants, has exciting plans for growth in 2026 and is planning for recruitment now.

A fantastic opportunity for a Semi Senior Accountant with experience working for a UK based firm of accountants, dealing with the preparation of accounts ready for manager/partner review with little supervision.

Main duties

Accounts preparation for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships in accordance with UK GAAP.
Prepare corporation tax returns in respect of accounting periods, in accordance with the Taxes and other relevant Acts.
Prepare VAT returns on a quarterly or annual basis as required and file the returns within the deadline, advising client of any payment amount due.
Prepare monthly management accounts to meet client reporting deadlines.
Deal with correspondence and queries from clients in a timely fashion.
Assist and support junior members of the team when required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced part-qualified or stopped study/qualified by experience candidate to further develop skills as you progress towards qualification. The role offers a stable and secure position with potential for progression in the long term. You will be used to working with clients and will also undertake management accounting work at clients’ premises on occasion.
