About The Role
The Senior Business Support Officer will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting the discharge to assess process within the Hospital Adult Social Care Team. Their responsibilities will be:
- To deliver and support high quality standards in relation to data recording, interprofessional communication and health and safety.
- To provide proactive administrative support for recruitment and financial processes.
- To carry out and follow Protection of Property procedures.
- To organise and assist in the development and maintenance of business processes, to support operational staff and efficient service delivery.
- To raise awareness and knowledge for the Business Support Officer, thereby contributing to the quality of service delivery, to maintain on a day to day basis the office equipment, information technology and office systems to ensure effective services.

This role is for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday in office. The base for this role will be between both Kettering General Hospital and Haylock House in Kettering. Therefore remote working is not possible for this role. Currently there is no onsite parking at Kettering General Hospital for Adult Social Care Staff.
About The TeamThe Hospital Adult Social Care Team is a vibrant and fast paced team, providing social care support to all North Northants residents who need an assisted discharge from hospital.
We take referrals for North Northamptonshire residents from a variety of hospitals. In line with current national guidance, we operate a Discharge To Assess (DTA) process which requires the team to carry out timely assessments for those people discharged to DTA beds in care homes, their own homes or to Specialist Care Centres.
What will you be doing?- Maintain accurate data records to aid the discharge to assess process, tracking both discharges from hospital and allocations for assessments within the team once the Supported Individual has been discharged.
- Maintain day to day basis the office equipment, information technology and office systems, to ensure effective services.
- Ongoing line management of the Business Support Officer, including supervisions and monitoring workloads and sickness.
- They will participate in the recruitment of new team members and the induction of Business Support staff and facilitate their integration into the workplace.
- To ensure our record and data management systems are maintained to high standard to enable staff to carry out their duties effectively and ensure Supported Individuals experience a high quality service.
- Support the implementation and use of Information Technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
- Provide an efficient response to requests to undertake the Protection of Property process for our Supported Individuals where required in line with statutory requirements.
- To carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
- You must be educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, particularly including English and Maths. Have excellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- You will have a good understanding of office environments, record maintenance/management to devise and improve team processes.
- To be able to demonstrate effective supervisory skills.
- To demonstrate excellent organisational ability including the application of information technology, and demonstrate good written and verbal skills including telephone communication.
- Have the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with ability to produce well-presented documents.
- To be able to plan and allocate work effectively and efficiently, meet deadlines and work in an organised manner.
