About

The Role

We are currently seeking a Work Experience Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Work Experience Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Work Placement Coordination
    - Source and secure high-quality work experience, industry placements, and T-Level opportunities that support students' learning and career development.
  • Student & Employer Engagement
    - Build strong relationships with students, employers, curriculum teams, and stakeholders, providing guidance, handling enquiries, and ensuring positive placement experiences.
  • Compliance, Safeguarding & Health & Safety
    - Ensure all placements meet safeguarding, health and safety, funding, and awarding body requirements, taking prompt action to address any concerns.
  • Monitoring & Record Management
    - Track student progress on placement, maintain accurate records and databases, provide feedback to curriculum teams, and prepare documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
    - Work closely with colleagues across the College to develop placement opportunities, promote consistency in communication, support quality standards, and contribute to training and development activities.
About You
  • Qualifications & Technical Knowledge- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), Level 2 qualification, health and safety, safeguarding and equality training, with strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems.
  • Work Placement & Employer Engagement Experience
    - Experience working with employers, handling enquiries, securing work placements, managing high-volume workloads, and delivering excellent customer service within education, training, or work-based learning environments.
  • Compliance, Safeguarding & Health and Safety
    - Sound knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety legislation, and the ability to conduct placement checks, manage compliance requirements, and promote student welfare.
  • Communication & Organisational Skills
    - Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage caseloads, prioritise workloads, maintain accurate records, produce reports, and present information to a range of audiences.
  • Professionalism & Flexibility
    - Demonstrates a proactive, customer-focused approach, works in line with organisational values, contributes positively to teams, commits to continuous development, and holds a full clean driving licence with access to a vehicle for business travel.
