The Company

A leading specialist in high‑end interior fit‑outs, complex refurbishments, and bespoke joinery, delivering exceptional projects across the UK. They operate across a diverse and expanding range of sectors, including commercial interiors, retail environments, restaurants and hospitality, stadiums, exhibitions, and large public venues and leisure spaces.

The company is financially strong, debt‑free, and continuing to grow, supported by a steady pipeline of repeat clients and ongoing sector expansion.

The Northampton office is a standout feature — a high‑spec, beautifully refurbished workspace with stylish breakout areas, modern meeting rooms, and a friendly, collaborative team. The site also benefits from its own specialist joinery workshop, enabling bespoke manufacturing and seamless integration between design, production, and installation.

Staff retention is exceptional, with many team members having been with the company for 7–15 years. They invest heavily in training, apprenticeships, and internal progression, creating a supportive environment where people genuinely develop and stay long term.

This is an opportunity to work on high‑profile, unique projects across multiple sectors, join a fast‑paced and ambitious contractor, enjoy a beautiful office environment, and take real ownership of your work. The company values relationships, fairness, and repeat business, and continues to grow and evolve in an exciting direction.

The Role

You will join as a Quantity Surveyor delivering high‑specification fit‑out and refurbishment projects across the UK. Projects typically range from £1m–£5m, across sectors such as stadiums and large public venues, museums, high‑end retail, hospitality, commercial interiors, and bespoke joinery‑led environments.

You will manage schemes from conception to completion, often working on fast‑paced projects with short lead times and delivery periods of 4–12 weeks. Procurement cycles can be tight, valuations move quickly, and subcontractor management is key. Site visits are required 1–2 days per week depending on project load.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full commercial management from inception to completion
  • Managing valuations, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Procuring specialist interior and joinery packages
  • Negotiating and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Measuring and valuing works on‑site
  • Running 2–4 schemes (size dependent), simultaneously
  • Attending site visits 1–2 days per week
  • Working closely with PMs to manage materials, risk, and short lead‑time procurement
  • Maintaining strong, non‑confrontational relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Person Specification
  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor with 4+ years’ experience
  • Fit‑out or refurbishment experience is a strong advantage
  • Will also consider subcontractor backgrounds from the following sectors: drylining, joinery, and M&E
  • Broader backgrounds in general contracting or housing also considered
  • Strong commercial awareness and contractual understanding (JCT)
  • Comfortable managing short timelines and fast‑paced delivery
  • Someone who enjoys being busy, takes ownership, and builds strong relationships
Package
  • £40,000 – £60,000 salary
  • £5,000 car allowance
  • Laptop and phone
  • Pension scheme
  • Travel expenses covered
  • 22 days holiday + bank holidays

If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy being part of a driven and supportive team, and take pride in helping deliver complex, high‑quality projects, this role could be an excellent fit for you.
