Service Advisor

Our client, a reputable family-run main dealer in Kettering, Northampton, with over 20 years of success in the motor trade, is seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join their friendly team.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established dealership known for transparency, trust, and exceptional customer care.

Competitive basic salary up to £30,000, depending on experience
OTE of £35,000+ achievable through performance

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays mornings

Duties of a Service Advisor:

Serve as the first point of contact for all service customers, ensuring a warm and professional welcome
Efficiently handle customer enquiries via telephone and face-to-face interactions
Book vehicles for service, MOT, or repairs with precise recording of all required information
Liaise with workshop teams to provide updates on vehicle progress
Clearly explain maintenance work, additional repairs, costs, and timescales to customers
Proactively upsell products and services, including service plans, warranties, and accessories
Process invoices, payments, and warranty documentation accurately
Manage aftersales administration, including warranty claims and follow-up calls
Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and foster customer retention
Ensure smooth customer journey from initial contact through to vehicle collection

Requirements of a Service Advisor:

Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer service role within the motor trade
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and IT literacy
Proactive attitude with a focus on upselling and achieving targets
