Due to two of our registrars successfully obtaining training posts, we invite applications for the position of Trust Grade Registrar to commence as soon as possible. The post-holder will participate in the Cardiology rota at the Trust and will have a defined on‑call rota (1 in
8). They will receive training in cardiac imaging, bradycardia pacing and coronary angiography depending on experience, over a two‑year period. The role offers full exposure to elective and non‑elective cardiology, and is eligible for equivalent training opportunities to Specialty Trainees despite not being a recognised Training post by the Postgraduate Deanery.
- Participate in the Cardiology rota and on‑call duties.
- Receive supervised training in cardiac imaging, bradycardia pacing and coronary angiography.
- Provide patient care with a patient‑centred focus.
- Contribute to research and audit activities.
- Attend regional and national educational meetings.
- Teach under‑ and post‑graduates and assist in the educational programme.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within General Medicine.
- Full MRCP (including PACES).
- Previous cardiology experience at registrar level is essential.
Successful applicants will be assigned a supervisor from the beginning and receive two‑year training in cardiac imaging, bradycardia pacing and coronary angiography. The post offers equivalent training opportunities to Specialty Trainees.
