Required skills include:
- Skilled in providing excellent library service and answering scientific and technical research requests.
- Experience with maintaining institutional repositories.
Required Qualifications
- American Library Association-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science and 1 to 3 years of professional library experience.
- Experience with providing reference and information services in person and online.
- Conducting information and digital literacy instruction for faculty, staff, and students.
- Experience in maintaining an institutional repository and an understanding of copyright law in relation to scholarly communication and electronic resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with information technology, including research databases, Lib Guides, discovery systems, integrated library systems, institutional repository systems, and learning management systems.
- Serve as a library liaison for an academic department, facilitating collection building.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and to work independently as well as in a team environment where consultation, collaboration, and cooperation is essential.
- Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Special Event Expectations:
Participation is expected at major campus special events, such as commencement.

- Collecting and uploading the scholarly output of Kettering University into the Institutional Repository. Creating and maintaining the Faculty Profiles as a showcase of all the great research happening here to the world.
- Providing research assistance and information and digital literacy instruction in-person and online for faculty, staff, and students. Liaising with academic departments and creating and maintaining research Lib Guides.
