About

The Role

We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in SEND to join our Specialist Provision department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Associate Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching & Learning Delivery – Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across Pathways courses (pre-entry to Entry
    3), tailored to individual learner needs and aligned with awarding body standards.
  • Curriculum Development & Innovation – Develop schemes of work and new learning materials, contribute to course team meetings, and implement quality processes to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Student Progress & Support – Monitor and record student progress, prepare reports, manage classroom behaviour, and support inclusive, safe, and diverse learning environments.
  • Collaboration & Administration – Work with tutors and support staff, complete course‑related admin tasks accurately and on time, and contribute to the wider goals of the Centre.
  • Statutory Responsibilities – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety, while actively engaging in training and professional development in line with TBCG policies.
About You
  • Qualifications & Experience – Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, GCSEs (A–C) in English and Maths, and experience supporting learners with learning difficulties or disabilities at entry level.
  • Teaching & Learning Skills – Proven ability to deliver group learning, manage classroom behaviour, and support high‑quality learning experiences using Microsoft Office and other tools.
  • Communication & Teamwork – Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism.
  • Values & Professionalism – Demonstrates commitment to student focus, high performance, and respect; promotes the college’s reputation and values in all interactions.
  • Safeguarding & Development – Committed to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development, with flexibility and awareness of health and safety requirements.
