Salary / Benefits

Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Esports to join our Esports department at the Bedford College Group.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching, Learning & Student Achievement – Deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment and verification across a range of programmes and levels, supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Curriculum Planning & Innovative Delivery – Develop up‑to‑date schemes of work and engaging learning resources, contributing proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching practice.
  • Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance – Monitor learner progress, provide timely feedback and ensure compliance with awarding body standards and internal quality processes.
  • Learner Support, Behaviour & Enrichment – Support students through guidance, behaviour management and enrichment opportunities, including employer links and work experience.
  • Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Maintain accurate records, contribute to team and college activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualifications & Esports Expertise – Degree in Esports or a related field with GCSE English and maths, supported by strong, current knowledge of industry developments and trends.
  • Teaching, Learning & Student Experience – Ability to deliver engaging, high‑quality learning experiences, supporting students to achieve success and develop relevant skills.
  • Curriculum Knowledge & Continuous Development – Up‑to‑date understanding of the Esports sector with commitment to CPD and innovative teaching practices.
  • Communication, Organisation & Teamwork – Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines, build relationships and contribute positively within a team environment.
  • Professional Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, equality and college values, maintaining professionalism with flexibility to work across sites and support student success.
