Salary / BenefitsSalary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, and access to college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement are for a Qualified Lecturer.

About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Lecturer in Uniformed Services to join our Public Services department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you will play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching, Learning & Student Achievement – Deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment and verification across a range of programmes and levels, supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
- Curriculum Planning & Innovative Delivery – Develop engaging schemes of work and learning materials, contributing proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching approaches.
- Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance – Monitor learner progress, provide timely feedback and ensure compliance with awarding body standards and internal quality processes.
- Learner Support, Behaviour & Enrichment – Support students through guidance, behaviour management and enrichment activities, including employer engagement and work experience opportunities.
- Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Maintain accurate records, contribute to team and college activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD requirements.
- Industry Expertise & Uniformed Services Knowledge – Relevant industry experience with up‑to‑date knowledge of developments within the Uniformed Services sector, supporting vocationally relevant teaching and learning.
- Teaching, Learning & Student Engagement – Ability to deliver high‑quality learning experiences, creating engaging and inclusive environments that support student achievement and progression.
- Communication, Organisation & IT Skills – Strong communication and organisational skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and managing workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- Collaboration, Professionalism & Values – Effective team player who builds positive relationships, promotes the College’s reputation and works in line with organisational values.
